Who would have guessed that July 16th would be a very very wet day.  No one.  I’m pretty sure that all the couples out there who chose July 16th, 2011 as their wedding day anticipated lots of sun and heat.  Unfortunately that wasn’t the case, but it didn’t ruin the day and we all worked through it!  Arriving at Kristal’s home in Burnaby, I entered a very still and quiet house.  Usually there’s music and people running around, but this morning was very calm and subdued.  Which was very much like Kristal – she seemed very relaxed and peaceful as she was getting ready to marry Ben.  Mom, on the other hand, was very excited and couldn’t contain her excitement as she was getting ready!  So maybe it wasn’t an entirely quiet house!

Dan hung out with Ben and the boys at the Celebration Pavilion at Q.E. Park as guests arrived.  Despite the rain, Kristal and Ben had a sweet ceremony with their friends and family.  After a quick lunch break, it was photo time at Granville Island !  The rain even stopped momentarily!  Thank goodness!

Their reception was held at Shun Feng Seafood Restaurant in Richmond.  Tasty food, great speeches, and lots of laughs during their shoe game, it was a jam packed night!  Chris of Butter Photobooth was there too with crazy props providing loads of photo opts for guests!

We had a blast with you guys and your awesome wedding party!

Huge thanks to our super awesome assistant Andy :)

Cheers,

KD

| Tim & Tamlin | Married | 07.02.11 |

Vancouver Wedding Photographers

What a wonderful day!  Our friends Tim and Tamlin married at the Chapel of Epiphany at UBC .  Tamlin and Dan have known each other since their elementary school days.  So with that history between Tamlin and Dan, and knowing her family and most of Tim and Tamlin’s friends, this day was an especially fun day for us!

There were so many great details!  Tamlin’s dress was custom made by a family friend.  WOW!  Gorgeous gorgeous!  Tamlin had her bridesmaids choose their own dresses as long as they were in a beige/tope color, and holy smokes did it ever turn out.  Each dress was amazing in itself, and put together, we have one sexy group of ladies!  The girls’ hairpieces were handmade by Jo, Tamlin’s sister-in-law (we shot Jo and Austin’s wedding two years ago!)  Tim and Tamlin definitely had a vision for their wedding and they executed it so well.  Burlap and wood scattered their reception at Lind Hall at Granville Island .  LOVE!  They had a very woody and earth toned theme, and it all came together so well!

Cheers to Alexis and her team at Fresh Fix Catering :) And to our super awesome assistant Julian :)

Many blessings to you Tim & Tamlin!!

| Nabeela & Bijhan | E-Session |

Vancouver Wedding Photographers

I can clearly remember the first time we met Nabeela and Bijhan.  The meeting was taken over by Bijhan and Dan’s love for Apple products.  Nabeela and I sat back and rolled our eyes a few times ;p  We did manage to talk weddings though!  And after hearing what they had planned for their big day, we knew we had to be their photographers!  It felt like a perfect match.

We got together at Whytecliff Park for their e-session a few weeks ago at around 7pm.  To our surprise, there was barely anyone there, but realized why as soon as we got out of the car.  It was incredibly windy!  We tried to work with the wind, but it was impossible!  Nabeela’s hair went wild, our light stand was falling over, and it was super cold!  We decided to try for another day.  The second time around, it was such a beautiful day, sans wind!  We shot a bit of video on Bijhan’s new camera for their slideshow for their wedding – can’t wait to see it!

We’re really looking forward to their wedding in three weeks!
