Amy & Ken: Just the two of us!

We had a blast with Amy & Ken at their portrait session. We started at the Round House and Aquarious in YaleTown and then headed off to Jericho Beach. You guys rock, you were so much fun and totally up for just about anything. Thanks guys for letting us take artistic license and be creative, we can't wait till you wedding day!

We made day to night with our super high sync speed and "Fancy" Radio Popper flash triggers!!! Love those things!

We love this area of the seawall, so much potential for awesome portraits! Above= Dan's shot... Below= Kat's Shot.... Taken at the same time!

Setting sun for superb light!

Veil shots are always fun too!

Just before the sun sets is one of our favorite times to shoot at the beach, golden tones and moody lighting make for some of our favorite shots!

See you guys in a few weeks.

Can't wait

Simon & Aline: Nelson adventure and 10 photographers

Check out the complete gallery here.

We were in Nelson, BC for Simon & Aline's big day and we just fell in love with everything about the whole weekend away. Firstly, Simon and Aline are two super FUN and super AWESOME photographers and almost all their guests were photogs as well... no pressure! On top of great people, Nelson is a really fun and hip town to visit. We had a blast, hope you like the images.

Some cute old buildings all around downtown Nelson, and just minutes from the old fashioned Hume Hotel , a cherished Nelson landmark, where we were staying.

Right across the street from the Hume was the old Court House with a plethora of various backgrounds to choose from.

Two goofs....well one.

They had these unique rings made of tungsten carbide.

Underneath the historic bridge in Nelson.

Having fun with rings and reflections.

The service, outdoors and intimate. There was something unique at this wedding called a ring warming. They passed around the rings amongst the guests so they could pass on their best wishes.

Fun cake cutting times

A little retreat off to the woods for some creative shots

The evening finished off with a huge bonfire and laughs all around. Snapped this one with the smoke from the fire, a glow stick in front of the lens and a 1/64 power sb-26 off camera intentionally flared. They liked this one, being photographers themselves...

Congrats your two!

Paul & Candace: Sincerity, Love and oh so much fun!

Check out the complete gallery here .

Last weekend we had the special privileged of photographing Paul and Candace on their wedding day. We were welcomed by their whole family the day before at the rehearsal and we were overwhelmed by their kindness. Such a joy to spend the day with such wonderful people

We were looking forward to there special day since there E-session here .

The beautiful Candace. Kat's shots.

Paul getting a hand getting ready. Dan's Shots

Together.

A few creatives before the ceremony.

Some moody portraits, under trees...in trees.

Some shots just of Paul & Candace all alone.

Oh and some fun shots playing with the flower girl.

How fun are these shots, look at the faces of the bridal party.

Now on to the ceremony.

Beautiful Candace arrives.

Several members of Paul's family are hearing impaired so during the service they had a translator signing the entire service. Can anyone read it?

A few ceremony candids and on to the reception.

The reception was held at scenic Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion.

The dances started as soon as Paul & Candace arrived.

Paul rockin the dance floor.

This lil' dude had moves.

Grandma even hit the dance floor later on.

A quick little get away on the lake. Just Paul...Candace... and a very worried photographer dangling camera and off-camera flash over the edge of the canoe.

The beautiful Candace, twilight bridal portraits.

Oh yes, and Paul too.

And now on to the photobooth!

Some goofing around with the groom.

"The Boys" aren't they cute!

A bunch of fun group shots.

Thank you so much for having us be a part of your special day. You two were fantastic and your family and guests were a joy to photograph as well!

Blessy & Titus: E-session on Kent Ave.

These two are a ton of fun and they were totally up for anything. We started our shoot at Jone's Park because that's were Titus "popped the question" but we quickly headed Due South to water to grab some super duper dusk shots!

Thanks guys for being patient with us and our crazy schedule, we're still catching up on so many E-sessions since we got back.

Blessy almost got Dan in the head a few times.

Train tracks are always fun.

Isn't this just adorable, we helped them pick the flyaways out of Titus's hair after.

It's a train.... It's a car.... No It'sa It'sa..... "PocketWizard triggered flash set at full power" Thats right, it sure is. Love the bottom left one of Blessy.

Some lovely dusk portraits of these two.

And on last intimate twilight shot to finish off the evening. We had so much fun with you guys, congratulations and we'll see you in a Month!

Laura & Nathan: Creatives in the snow!

Vancouver is home to many beautiful things, amazing views, fantastic beaches, great shops... but it is also home to very "unpredictable" weather! Laura and Nathan's special day started off with a beautiful sun filtered slightly with thin clouds, a photographer's dream! Then it started to cloud up, "no problem, we'll work our magic." Then it started to rain a little, "out come plastic bags and umbrellas, still workable." Then it got really cold and windy, "Dan forgot to bring a jacket, thankfully our assistant had a spare." But to top everything off it started to hail and snow during the creatives.... my oh my, what a crazy day.

But we still had fun, and the wedding party was well prepared with an arsenal of colourful umbrellas and cars with heaters blasting between locations. Hope you enjoy the pics :)

The boys

Here she comes

The inside of the beautiful Sherbrooke Mennonite Church with Tilt-Shift loveliness.

A few candid shots during family portraits

We told you it was snowing, yes those are SANDALS two of the bridesmaids are wearing... They were a little chilled on the toes.

Off to somewhere undercover till the snow passes...

And to take some nifty photos while we're there. Concrete squares, a happy find!

Some kuel ring shotz by Kat.

A few more funky portraits with "super assistant" Matt on lighting, you may have seen him if you've been following us for a while. He's also a "super client," check out his blog Matt & Rachel.

Absolutely LOVE this one of the guys. Matt (super assistant) climbed up good and high to light this one.

Meanwhile, Kat grabbed this awesome detail of the boys standing on the cement pipe...auhh thing. That was BTW not really secure, is rolled back and forth a little... Safety first?

The boys... ahhh I mean, MEN....

The Ladies.

Goofin' around....all key shift style...

And a jumping shot, cause they're FUN!

Yes, that groomsmen is kissing the back of Nathan's head....

Skipping ahead to the dance

Some Photo-Booth highlights.

She was so much fun.

"The single guys," their words... No Lie.

Congrats to Laura and Nathan,
we had a blast and thank
you so much for having us as a
part of your day.

All the best

Kevin & April: 216th St. Creatives followed by candle light Ceremony

What a day, we clicked with this crew from the first shot. The whole day we couldn't stop laughing, smiling and just having a total blast. Kevin and April are such a cute pair, from their wedding party's black and white coordinated Converse shoes to their tagged getaway cars, everything was totally them.

We did all the creatives along 216th in Langley; first this cool grain station... ummm ahh... thing...

A jumping shot.... cause they're fun!

The absolutely stunning April!

Their crew on the back of a nearby train...

A Few Details.

A few more...

Getting the boys to stand still for this series wasn't easy!

A sweet intimate portrait.

Playing with the sun...

Down the street there is this awesome old Texco station. And another jumping shot, cause they really are fun....

Further down 216th we made our way to the Langley Airport and got to use a 1930's DC-3 for this classic, nostalgic series.

Love this infrared one,

this IR one too.

April had no problem at all getting around wearing these kicks, no 3 inch heels here.

We especially liked this clever camouflage technique, same colour as champagne!

Taste testing the cake, caught you!

First dance together...

Party Time!
Some PhotoBooth Favorites

Kids are always fun!

Congrats you two,
It was truly an honor to be a part of your wedding.

Sherry & Charles: Unique and Elegant at Green College

We just loved this wedding, so fun... These two are so awesome! Charles, and most of his family are up from Eugene Oregon, where he is a Professor at University of Oregon. The Ceremony and Reception was at Green College at UBC, we were lucky the weather held and we had sun most of they day in Late July.

Props to Kat, grabbed this fun reflection shot.

Some fun getting ready details, love the musical shoes from John FlueVog .

Beautiful Sherry gets ready

Some trouble folding Charles' handkerchief, but never fear! To the rescue comes the blackberry with instructions!

All details aside, Charles looking very handsome.

Kat grabbed this wicked angle.

I got this one.

Love this.

The Boys...

Just love the wood framing and atmosphere of Green College...

Some Reception details, how cool are the bride and groom PEZ dispensers...

Proud Father...

Cheers!

Goofing around...

Fun group shots with fisheye....

...Fun group shots with fisheye x2

And the first dance

And everyone else hits the floor.

Fun at the Photo-Booth, A new thing for us...

This was a total hit and everyone had fun...some even knocked a few things over.

This group was a little over the top, but so much fun.

Yes that would be me goofing around with the MC in the bottom right...

Yes and we jumped in there too. Our fantastic assistant Brent Hodge took this one of Kat and me...

Congratulations Charles & Sherry!

A few fun shots around Science World to start, playing around with the little bit of light left at the end of the day.

Throwing in a bit of Infrared

Kat's creative reflection shot, love it!

We shot right into the night, which comes far too early these days.

Counting the days, see you guys in February!

Shaun & Nicki: Fun times with old friends

It was our honor this weekend to photograph an old friend's wedding. I've known Shaun since I was still in high school and Nicki nearly as long. They really are a wonderful couple and I couldn't help but smile and get distracted all day, as the vast majority of the guest
were friends from years past. Kat and I really felt as if we were welcomed as guests, but as always, we had a job to do!
Just love her eyes

Testing out a new lens, soon to become a favorite 24mm TC-E shift.
Love it when a classic comes out. We had a hard time keeping up to this one going to the reception!
The ceremony was at St. Johns on Granville, big but not too big. And oh so beautiful.
This classic church certainly gave us plenty to work with, unfortunately we had only 5 minutes before we had to rush off after the service.

Some quickies outside before the rest of the guest could catch up with us.
And on to a garden to take a few portraits...

A couple fun candids...
Pretty light under a cute little ivy covered bench.
No time to spare though, on to the rest of the night...

First Dance
and moms & dads.

This was such a joyous day for Kat & me. We had such a blast with everyone, I reunited with so many past friends.

Congratulations Shaun & Nicki, and best of luck in Victoria!

Jenn & Chad: Fantastic Location on Pender Island

Perfect, that's all I can say about this one! Everything went so well. Jenn and her crew didn't leave anything to chance from the location to the food to the smallest detail. Everything was so "perfect!" I couldn't help but look over at Kat after it all and think "let's make ours like this!"

Call it luck or good planning, but seriously so much could have gone wrong; the ferry could have been late, it could have rained, the ring bearer (there dog "Nunuk") could have dropped the rings through the dock...but nothing.

One of my favorite details were the flowers. Tulips were the main flowers of the day and Jenn's dad did all the arrangements. Well done, they looked awesome!

Clowning around ;p

My favorite shot of that day, Kat grabbed this one while I was catching my balance on the edge of the cliff.

It was actually supposed to rain so we came prepared.

The whole silly gang

I take no credit, another amazing series captured by Kat...

Chad is only half smiling cuz I have him standing in icy cold salt water...

One of Jenn's many brilliant details.
An early evening getaway with your favorite photogs

, wanted a shot of the four of us so I promptly dangled the $5 000 camera over the edge of the boat to catch this silly portrait!

Thank you so much for having us capture your special day. It was a blast, a total joy to be there. It was just so much fun hanging out with you guys!

Take Care

Have a great time in Greece and best of Luck in Kingston ON

The weather co-operated and the location was just beautiful. You guys were too sweet and kind. What a joy it was to be a part of your wedding.

After the tea ceremony they walked down the aisle together hand in hand...

Kevin looking over at the funny looking white guy with the camera...
