We can’t say enough how much of a pleasure it was to be a part of Chelsea and Josh’s wedding this past June! Chelsea and Josh got in touch with us through Sarah Dobsin, the hostess at The Chapel in Queen Elizabeth Park, who is cousins with the bride! It was truly a wonderful day to see so many friends and family celebrate Chelsea and Josh’s Coal Harbour wedding!
Chelsea and Josh both come from large families, but also families who are committed to serving the church and their communities around them. Their ceremony was held at Coastal Church downtown Vancouver on Georgia Street, where Chelsea’s father is the senior minister, and also where Chelsea works as a graphics designer. The ceremony at Coastal Church was unique in the sense that Chelsea was walked down the aisle by her father, AND he was also the officiant – how great is that?!
After the ceremony, Chelsea and Josh cut their cake and celebrated with their church congregation while the reception later was for a smaller group of family and friends. After some family photos, we took Chelsea, Josh and their 16 person wedding party (yes, 16 brothers, sisters, sister-in-law, uncles, and friends) in and around the Coal Harbour Community Centre for photos.
The reception was held at Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. The night was filled by many many speeches from all siblings of the newly weds, their parents and friends. Dan and I couldn’t help but be moved by how close each of Chelsea and Josh’s family are. To be able to call each of your siblings a best friend, and to be able to have a deep relationship with every member of your family; it’s very admirable to see that!
Leading up to the wedding, we could see on Facebook that Chelsea was extremely excited to be getting married, counting down the days till she became Mrs. Watkins We’re happy that they have made their vows and now start their life together as husband and wife! Congrats guys
