Cherry Blossom engagement session; hot on the market! It’s one of the busiest times of the year for us for engagement sessions. Many of our couples love the pink hues and the overwhelming abundance of them around the city. We always forget how big a deal cherry blossoms are each year until we get request after request to do sessions with them. Nearly each time we go out in search of cherry blossom sweet spots, we see globs of people with their cameras pointed upwards and even tours being lead. Unfortunately it’s quite the phenomenon that we overlook each year. Each cherry blossom season, I tell myself, “Next year we’ll walk around the city and take personal photos of them!”. Each year we fail. So in our annual tradition, I’ll say to all of you that, ” Next year, we’ll go around and take photos of the beautiful cherry blossoms that our city is lucky to have.” Please hold us accountable.
Jessica & Anthony are one of our couples this year that wanted to have that cherry blossom engagement session. The unfortunate thing about this time of year is that it also rains a lot! We nearly postponed the session for a sunnier day, but we chanced it and went ahead – and we’re glad we did. We probably caught the trees at the Burrard skytrain station near the end of it’s season, as the ground looked like it was covered in pink carpet. Next, we trotted over to Coal Harbour; another cherry blossom sweet spot.
Anthony proposed to Jessica a week before their first trip to South Africa together, where Anthony is originally from. He got down on one knee and proposed with a photo of Jessica’s purple Sapphire ring on his phone that was waiting for her in South Africa. Her reply? ”Did you ask my parents!!??” Maybe not the words that Anthony was expecting, but obviously….she said yes.
We had such a silly and wonderful time with them and look forward to their August wedding! Enjoy a few favourites from their engagement session!
